FAQ

Here you will find the answers to the most frequently asked questions.

If you have any other question please write to contact@moneyofgood.org.

01. When will it be possible to sign up for the platform to start making money by meditating?

The pre-release of the Money of Good platform is planned for December 2021. By that date the platform will be available in some cities in countries like Brazil, Germany, Portugal and Chile.

The goal is that the platform will be available worldwide by July 2022.

For this to be possible, the project needs to receive broad support and donations. Only then the team that is working on the production of the technological infrastructure will be able to get everything ready in time to launch the platform.

02. What is the Future of Good?

The Future of Good is an inspiring vision of a better world for everyone.
The Future of Good vision presents a concrete plan to drive the transition to a new fair and sustainable economy while raising consciousness and well-being through meditation.

03. What is Money of Good?

Money of Good is a revolutionary socioeconomic platform that works as a universal basic income program. It offers people the chance to earn money as a reward for practicing meditation. Thus, the system helps to improve their health, raise awareness while promoting a new economic model that is much more just and sustainable.

Watch here the video of the Money of Good Tour Brazil that presents how the system works.

04. Who is doing the project?

The Future of Good is a collaborative and open project in which anyone who wants to contribute to its realization can participate. Currently, it is being developed by a team of volunteers. Meet them at the Team page.

05. What is the proof-of-meditation technology and how does it work?

For the user the proof-of-meditation technology is very simple, they just need to use the MEMO sensor and use the meditation app that helps in the meditation practice as if it were a game.

Technically the proof-of-meditation is the technology that allows to verify with extreme precision and security the meditative state of the user and validate the payment in a 100% safe way.

The meditation proof technology works through a portable and wearable neurofeedback device, the MEMO sensor, connected to the Money of Good app. The app then performs the cryptographic recording of the meditator's mental signals along with various other information in the holochain, a distributed accounting ledger like the blockchain. This unique and indelible record authorizes the system to pay monetary credits to the user in the new currency called GOOD.

06. When will the wearable MEMO (neuro-sensor) be on sale and where?

MEMO will be available for pre-purchase from December 2021 when the crowdfunding campaign will be launched.

Once officially launched, it will be possible to purchase it at online stores such as Amazon or any physical store where you can buy electronic devices such as cell phones.

07. How much will the MEMO cost?

Our goal is to offer MEMO with the most advanced neurofeedback technologies but at an extremely affordable cost. It should cost less than $100.

IMPORTANT: 50% of the amount spent in local currency to buy the MEMO returns to the buyer in GOODs as soon as he creates his account on the platform.

08. What is the MEMO and how does it work?

MEMO is a wearable device that measures brain activity via electroencephalography (EEG) sensors. This technology is similar to other devices already available on the market that offer guidance for relaxation and meditation. Example: Muse, Emotiv, Mindlift, Melomind, and Neurosky.

The data measured by MEMO is used to generate instant feedback via the App on the smartphone where a graphical + audio interface that looks like a game guides the user in a personalized way in his meditation practice.

Note: The MEMO sensor is just a brainwave meter. It does not emit any kind of signal that can interfere with brain activity.

09. How and when will it be possible to acquire the GOODs / Tokens currency?

It will not be possible to buy GOODs as it is done when buying dollars in a currency exchange office. The only way to acquire the GOOD currency is through meditation practice. The Money of Good platform will not offer tokens either. It will provide the GOOD currency exclusively to its practicing users.

10. Is there a limit of GOODs credits a person can earn per day?

Yes, there is a daily limit of how many GOODs a person can earn. This limit corresponds to the maximum time of 4h of meditation per day. As the Money of Good platform will start paying the equivalent of 1 dollar per minute of practice, 4h will yield approximately 240.00 G per day. The equivalent of 240 dollars or 972.00 reais (at the rate of 08.10.19 - 1.00 dollar = 4.05 reais).

11. Is it possible to transfer GOODs to other people?

Yes, it will be possible to do all kinds of financial transactions with GOODs. In the same way, as you do with dollars, euros, reais, etc. You just need the other person to have a Money of Good account as well.

Through the Money of Good banking app, you can use your GOOD balance to make purchases, transfer to other accounts, make deposits, and payments.

12. Where does the money come from to pay people?

The GOOD money to pay users will come from the Money of Good monetary fund which is generated as follows:

- through wearable MEMO sales

- through donations from foundations and organizations that support the Future of Good

- through the credit reserve fund generated by companies associated with the Money of Good system and the new conscious economy of the common good.

13. Does the meditation practice suggested by MOG have a connection with any religion?

No, MOG is 100% secular (non-religious). This means that any person can enjoy the system regardless of their beliefs.

We understand meditation as a technology of well-being and elevation of consciousness. The methodology focuses on reducing stress and improving health and is based on practical exercises such as breathing, concentration, and relaxation.

14. Why mix meditation with money? Doesn't that go against the essence of spiritual practice?

In relation to meditation.

We understand that meditation practice is not something sacred reserved for monks or saints. Meditation practices are in their essence a series of simple techniques that help improve the health of the body and helps the mind to be more in balance, harmony, and in a higher state of awareness.

Thus the MoG reward system encourages meditation practice simply as a wellness technology to help people be healthier, more harmonious, and more aware.

This means that MoG is 100% secular. And, because it is not linked to any belief or dogma users are free to follow the spiritual/religious path of their choice.

What about money?

When it comes to monetary incentives, it is fundamental to understand that money itself is neutral, that is, it can be used for both good and bad things.

Money of Good, as the name suggests, advocates the good use of money.

Therefore, by introducing the GOOD currency in the world, we intend to offer a currency whose nominal value represents positive values for society and for the planet, so that its structure of emission and operation encourages and favors actions of positive impact, such as meditating and using business as a force for good, as B-Corps do.

Furthermore, we believe that offering people in financial difficulties the chance to earn extra income is a very effective way to bring material and mental balance. But most importantly, it is a powerful incentive to involve a large part of the population in the practice of meditation every day. So if, by offering a monetary reward, we can still help increase individual awareness, it will have a very positive impact on society and the planet as a whole.

15. Will the daily meditation practice with financial rewards make people lazy?

Not at all. After meditation, the person usually feels more willing and energized.

Plus, by having the extra income she/he will not need to rely on terrible full-time jobs. This means that there will be time left to do what really matters such as enjoying more time with family and friends, taking care of your home, doing crafts, growing a vegetable garden, or helping the community.

16. Can "mining" through meditation be done by any meditation app or just with the Money of Good app? Are you going to have any partner app, like the Insight Timer?

To earn credits in GOODs via meditative "mining" practice people must be logged in via the Money of Good app that is connected to the wearable MEMO.

However, it will be possible to use guided meditation from other apps such as Calm, MindSpace, or Insight Timer, and then direct a percentage of the credits generated by the practice to the partner app as a payment for providing content that helped in the meditative practice.

17. Why is the platform called Money of Good?

We choose this name because we understand that the most powerful force that shapes the world is the collaboration of human beings and the main fuel of this collaboration is money. The saying goes, "money makes the world go around" and we know how powerful it is to create good or bad. (See the clip where Marcelo Bohrer comments on this.)

The way in which money is created and (mis) distributed are the main causes of the harmful financial system that exists today and, consequently, of the economic problems that aggravate social inequality and the destruction of the planet.

That's why Money of Good has been designed to introduce GOOD, a positive money into society and to empower people by helping to transition to a more sustainable and fair economic model.
